HOW EXPENSIVE IS IT…?

Getting yourself started on a Ketogenic Diet doesn’t need to cost anything…! The concept itself is free and can be easily ‘Googled’ for advice about the rules to follow and even obtaining menus… But it can seem complicated…!

Web resources – like this very site, can be a valuable and free source of advice, recipes, information, and support… Social Media has plenty of groups dedicated to providing ongoing support and tips for Keto dieters.

Then there are the perceived extra costs normally associated with being on a particular diet… Healthy foods just seem to ‘cost more’. Whilst ‘pre-packaged’ foods do tend to label the ingredients and nutrients… fresh foods from say, the Butcher or the Fruit & Veg shop/market don’t…so it’s important to understand the nutrients and calories for these foods and plan accordingly.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

The question of cost can be expanded a bit to consider the costs involved in the time and effort required to do all the working out. 

Even if you can have your macros worked out for you by one of the many online or mobile apps… there’s still the time and effort involved in working out the shopping lists, checking nutrient values for all the things you look at in the supermarket or store…!

The actual cost of a reasonable personalized plan is somewhere between $40 – $60 for a full 8-week course… Be wary of over-priced plans asking more than this. For me… this is a no-brainer. A decent investment that lets me just get on with it.

One thing I’ve learned is that good Keto Diet Plans include asking you what foods you’d like to include and what foods you want to avoid… The actual foods that must be avoided will not be a part of your diet plan if you go down this route.

If, however, you’re planning on ‘going it alone’, then there are some very good resources online that will provide as much information as you need to avoid counter-productive choices.

Again…For me… I found it much more beneficial to invest in a diet plan that took all that guesswork out and let me concentrate on the food I should be eating.

Anyone can do it if I can… One thing I have taken from my journey is that the less complicated and more structured you make it, the better chance of success…!

Understanding the basic concept and then seeing the menu choices and breakdowns offered by the right diet plan make it seem easily achievable…and it is.
